AFAIK, email recall features rarely have any effect outside your own organization. The feature depends on visibility into the mailboxes of recipients to determine if the message has been read or not, and write access to remove the message you are replacing/recalling.

What's more is that the request to replace or recall the message often calls more attention to the email by sending another email.

For my money/time, the best method to avoid needing email recall is to enable the undo send feature instead, which queues the email instead of sending it immediately.

There's nothing worse than accidentally sending an email before you've finished it (or forgetting an attachment, or sending to the wrong recipient.)! Did you know Microsoft Outlook allows you to attempt to recall a sent message?
